AMY AND IGNACIA

Amy had began to have a real liking for the stunning white filly. She had basically begged on her knees for Bobby to take the day off and let her work her today; they had made a plan to alternate every other day but she couldn't bear to not ride her. She felt like she had a better knowledge for the horse than Bobby, but who knew. The only thing she knew for sure was that Ignacia trusted Amy and Amy trusted Ignacia. Ida did things for her that she wouldn't do for Bobby, but that didn't mean that Amy didn't have problems; she was still a two year old Thoroughbred and acted up more often than not. But she was settling very nicely into her new home and also into racing. She had done spectacular her first race and Amy didn't want to tarnish that reputation, so they were going to do a quick workout before her next race.
The filly trotted swiftly onto the track with Amy posting in time to her long strides. After warming up, she gave her a slight nudge which sent them into a canter and she stood up in her stirrups, slightly crouched over. Ida's nose was pressed to her chest as she fought for a gallop. She squealed, whether out of frustration or excitement, Amy didn't know, then threw in a buck. Amy laughed, a little off balance, but as they turned the corner, she released her grip that was holding the filly in. As Ida shot out from underneath her, Amy crouched forward even more, giddy with the feeling of speed as they blew around the track. Her hands went smoothly with the movement of the filly's head. The wind made her tear up but she asked the filly for even more speed.
They reached the twelve furlong marker all too soon, blasting by it, and then Amy began an attempt to slow the filly down. Ida flicked her tail when she felt the pressure of the bit bearing down on her mouth but struggled to maintain her pace. After some fighting, Amy coaxed her down to a swift trot. Her breathing was a bit heavy and she was lathered in sweat, so Amy decided a bath would be nice for her. After cooling her down a bit more, she walked the filly back to the barn.
